For the first time,  the selection trial for the country’s most desirable person to represent India at the Mr Asian and Mr World body building championships is taking place in Chennai. “The selection will take place on July 19 at Kamaraj Memorial Hall,” said Chetan M Pathare, secretary, Indian Body Building Federation (IBBF) at a press meet on Wednesday. The selection trial is for both men and women. “Around 200 athletes including 50 women are expected to participate in the selection trial,” he added. “We are planning to select around 30 to 40 athletes, but we will be considerate in our process.” The athletes from 31 state and union territory associations including Arunachal Pradesh and Chattisgarh happy wheels are expected to participate. “Apart from providing sports kit, we want to extend star facility rooms and diet food to the participants, and also our organisers, as they too were body building champions. After 2012, everything has changed completely; the body builders are being given good hotels to stay during competitions,” he explained. The selection trial is conducted by IBBF, Tamil Nadu Body Builders Welfare Society (TBBWS), Indian Film TV and Rishi Cricket Hub. “We can’t grow without the State and Central government’s support and encouragement,” said Nagesh Prasad, secretary, TBBWS, and congratulated the new sports minister Vijay Goel. “Indian Railways have always been encouraging the athletes by giving cash award up to `10 lakh for the world champions. Railways are recruiting a lot of athletes nowadays, and that’s a bonus.” Guinness Babuganesh and Mr. Tamilnadu Cricketer, Actor, Mr. Rishi Kanth requested through press meet all India Secretary and Tamilnadu BBF Crew should meet our Honorable chief Minister Selvi.J. Jayalalitha to get her blessings and to get great recognization  for the body building and fitness sports.
