” Theendathey ” a short film directed by Raja Pandian and cinematography by the president of the South Indian Film Women’s Association Vaishaly Subramanian.
THEENDATHEY’-CONCEIVED, DEVELOPED IN PURE EMOTIONS
“Theendathey”, a short film directed by Raja Pandian and cinematography by the president of the South Indian Film Women’s Association Vaishaly Subramanian had been screened at the recently concluded ABCL – Audio Broadcast Cinema Light Expo 2018 Exhibition at Chennai Trade Centre. After this screening programme, Vaishaly asked one of the guest speakers P.Vijayakumari, director and journalist to say a few words about ‘Theendathey’ for the short film’s story dealt with the issues being faced by women in the society.
Vijayakumari said : The story of this short film is really soul stirring. I should congratulate the producer Kalpana Raja Pandian for producing such a great short film and at the same time I wish she would be pleased to produce more number of short films and feature films which deal with the societal problems. The director Raja Pandian has done a great job. The cinematographer Vaishaly Subramanian’s work is splendid. I congratulate the entire team of ‘Theendathey’ and wish them all great success.
Renowned lyricist Viveka pointed out the simplicity of the producer Kalpana and the entire team in general. We can experience the nativity of the film only through these ‘nativity’ people. I am really enthusiastic about ‘Theendathey’. I congratulate the entire team especially the director Raja Pandian for his great narration and the DOP Vaishaly for her extraordinary work.
Director Vijay Balaji said : This short film is very much eligible for making it to a feature film for the content, narration and picturisation. Vaishaly had worked with the team which associate the legendary P.C.Sreeram and R.D. Rajasekhar and hence she proved it.
The director Raja Pandian was hesistant to speak on stage. But ‘Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva’ fame director Sairam had an interview like conversation to make Raja Pandian to speak and he succeeded to some extent. Sairam said : This short film focuses on how women are vulnerable and fall prey to men especially who are pervert. I believe the director Raja Pandian would soon direct a great film.
Senior Cameraman G.P. Krishna had all praise about Vaishaly for her selection of frames and shots. He said : Vaishaly proved it that she learnt the nu ances of the cinematography from the team which worked with the legend P.C.Sreeram. I extend my support for screening and other necessary help for Vaishaly’s future projects.
Renowned director and cinematographer Velraj presented a shawl to the director Raja Pandian and cinematographer vaishaly Subramanian. Cinematographer Sreenivas Devaamsam, actor Adesh Bala and Arun Constructions K.A.S. Arun Ramadoss also graced the occasion.
Meanwhile on behalf of the Bharathiraja International Institute of Cinema (Briic), a short film ‘Pavithra’ had also been screened. It dealt with how women should face sexual harassment and escape with courage. All guest speakers praised ‘Pavithra’ and echoed ‘It is the need of the hour to create awareness through ‘Pavithras’.
Last but not the least comedy actor Arul Mani who came to speak became incidentally a master of ceremonies engaged with the audience to keep the function flowing as smoothly as possible with his witty remarks.
Bharathiraja International Institute of Cinema (Briic) Head of the Department Christopher admired the entire team of ‘Theendathey’ for their great work.
The associate director of ‘Theendathey’ Jhansi praised the producer Kalpana for her determination to finish the project successfully.
Earlier Vaishaly introduced the entire team including the assistant cameramen Hemanth Kumar and Nassar. The PRO of the South Indian Film Women’s Association (SIFWA) Radhika Rajkumar proposed vote of thanks.
